If you’re in the mood for a face mask that looks like a stocking cap but with the designer bragging rights, then Maison Margiela has just the look for you.
The odd mask is available in three color options, though the Light Sky color is the most expensive of them all. Priced at $510, this transparent mask wraps around the entire face with a ruching tie behind the head. While it appears to fit firmly, the mask fits lightly across the face. The Black is also made of the same transparent material, yet that one costs $250. Customers can choose the least expensive mask, which is the Palladium, for just $210. However, this appears to be the most basic of the three, made of polyester material with a “sheer finish.”
John Galliano, Maison Margiela’s Creative Director, is the mastermind behind these Renaissance-era-inspired pieces. These face coverings are placed in the “Other accessories” category. Another notable find also listed is the Bianchetto Denim Oversized Hat. This large headpiece paired with the face mask is slightly sinister, but for the sake of fashion, it might work for some. For the complete look, customers will have to dish out another $1,115.
Fashionistas who want to take a stab at this unique find can head over to Maison Margiela’s website.
