After a long wait, Mercedes-AMG has finally unveiled Project One, a $2.8 million hypercar, featuring super technology that makes the new vehicle a force to be reckoned with when it comes to motorsports.
Their first ever hypercar was revealed this week at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany. While the Bugatti Chiron, a similarly expensive vehicle, has 1,500 horsepower from an 8-liter W16 engine, the Project One relies only on a 1.6-liter V6 engine but still manages to pull 217 mph, going from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.6 seconds.
With a 1.6-liter V6, the Project One gets roughly 700 horsepower, while still cranking 11,000 rpm, making it the perfect, yet safe, vehicle for us speed demons.
The hybrid system is another key feature of the car as it allows for torque vectoring, giving the wheel more precision than what we normally get in an all-wheel-drive system.
Mercedes will only make 275 of these luxury cars. So far every one of them has been sold.
