All the entertainment powerhouses were in Atlanta over the weekend to celebrate with Tyler Perry for his history-making production studio. As many of the guests have returned to their homes, Oprah stayed in Atlanta to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Oprah Scholars Program at Morehouse College.
During the celebration, she shocked the audience after announcing that she will make another $13 million donation to the school. In 1989, she donated $1 million to the school during commencement ceremonies and started the Oprah Winfrey endowed scholarship fund.
Oprah’s commitment to philanthropy and promoting education throughout her career is unparalleled. Her consistent efforts have inspired many others to do the same by paying it forward. Morehouse College has received a lot of public attention since billionaire Robert Smith donated $34 million to the school’s entire 2019 graduating class to pay off their student loan debt.
