Taylor Swift is officially in a league of her own, securing her spot as the richest female musician with a net worth of $1.6 billion. Forbes recently announced that Swift has now surpassed fellow music mogul Rihanna, who sits at $1.4 billion.
Swift’s wealth has increased significantly due to several sources, including her Eras Tour, which has generated an estimated $600 million in royalties and touring revenue. Her music catalog, valued at over $600 million, and a real estate portfolio worth around $125 million have also contributed to her growing fortune.
In 2022, Swift made history as the first billionaire to earn the title solely through songwriting and performing. This year, she expanded on that success with her massive Eras Tour, which has taken her to 21 cities across Asia, Australia, and Europe. The tour has not only been a success for Swift but has also benefited the local economies of the cities she visited. For example, her four nights in Tokyo brought an estimated $228 million into Japan’s economy, while her Sydney shows generated an estimated $43.3 million in merchandise sales. However, some fans in countries that weren’t included in the tour, like those near Singapore, expressed disappointment over missing out.
Swift still has 18 shows left on her two-year Eras Tour, with the next stop in Miami on October 18. The tour will officially wrap up on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.
Forbes also ranked the 34-year-old artist fifth on its Power Women list, behind notable figures like Ursula von der Leyen and Kamala Harris. She shares the 24th spot on the America’s Self-Made Women list with Spanx founder Sara Blakely and is 25th on the Highest-Paid Entertainers list. Swift is currently ranked 2,545th on the overall billionaires list.
