That’s Baller: These Athletes Splurge Big On Their Diamond Drip

Outside of dominating sports, athletes are known for their flashy lifestyles.  One way many of them showcase their massive salaries is by spending thousands on some of the priciest bling. 

Stars like the now-retired Deion Sanders have long been praised for their jewelry collection.  At the height of his career, he was frequently seen rocking numerous diamonds and gold chains, which became a part of his bigger-than-life persona.  Though he’s toned it down in the years since playing sports professionally, earlier this year, he revealed a stunning custom diamond-encrusted gold necklace that reads, “I Believe.”

Athletes who are still in the league are even bigger spenders when it comes to their jewels. Floyd Mayweather is one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, with a jewelry collection that is likely worth millions.  In 2023, he spent a staggering $1 million on a custom white gold Cuban link chain from celebrity jeweler Johnny Dang. 

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman was still with the New York Jets when he dropped a hefty bag on a necklace inspired by the team.  Last year, he debuted a chain with two jets attached to both sides and a larger plane pendant in the center.  Though he was traded to the Chiefs in late 2023, Hardman still rocks his one-of-a-kind necklace proudly.

LeBron James is a bit more discreet with his accessories, though he has spared no expense on his watch collection.  One of the standout timepieces is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 26521OR​​, which he has been spotted wearing several times.  The face of the rose gold set is draped in blue sapphire gemstones.  It is estimated that James paid at least $500,000 for this rarity.
