Seven-time Super Bowl champion and NFL legend Tom Brady has teamed up with Sotheby to hold a major auction titled “The GOAT Collection: Watches & Treasures from Tom Brady.” Expected to kick off on December 10th, the live auction will showcase more than $6 million worth of luxury jewelry from Brady’s personal collection, alongside a few exclusive sports memorabilia.
As you know, Brady has carefully crafted an impressive collection of timepieces over the years. Some of these watches are custom-made, one-of-a-kind watches that hold sentimental value. The high-profile auction comes as a surprise, as Brady previously stated in a 2020 interview that he doesn’t foresee himself selling his precious jewelry.
“Hopefully I don’t sell them, which I don’t think I ever will. These will be hopefully in my collection for a long time,” he said at the time.
Additionally, the auction will feature 27 luxury watches, but Sotheby’s only revealed five specific models as of now. For starters, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch is estimated to go for $400,000 to $800,000 USD and features white gold with a diamond-set bezel and a salmon-toned dial. The timepiece also has Brady’s name engraved alongside the number of Super Bowls he has won. Next on the list is the Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 5980/1R-001/. The Patek is a rare rose-gold watch, expected to sell for $180,000 to $240,000 USD. The luxury company no longer sells this timepiece, making it that much more exclusive.
The Rolex Day-Date Reference 228396TBR is valued at $80,000 to $120,000 USD. This Rolex is a gem with its meteorite dial and diamond accents on the bezel and hour markers. The Richard Mille 35-03 “Baby Nadal” is projected to go for $300,000 to $500,000. Lastly, the IWC Pilot’s Watch TOP GUN Edition “SFTI” is a special piece of Brady’s watch collection. The former NFL player wore this during the 2021 Super Bowl victory parade, adding a historical appeal to the piece. Nonetheless, the watch is estimated to sell for $12,000 to $18,000 USD.
Outside of the luxury jewelry, the auction will also include several pieces of sports memorabilia, such as his 2000 NFL Combine-worn shirt, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game-worn helmet, and the University of Michigan Final College Game-worn Jersey. All of these items are expected to sell for upwards of $100,000 USD. The auction is expected to begin for December 10.
