Tom Brady is auctioning off one of his Rolls-Royce, and the bids are already in the six figures.
Days ago, the auction opened for Brady’s black and chrome 2024 Rolls-Royce Ghost. It is currently up for auction through Sotheby’s Motorsports with only 127 miles. The unique Grace White leather interior gives this Ghost a bit of an artistic vibe. As of Thursday, 32 bids had been placed with the the highest sitting at $400,000. Buyers last chance to bid will be August 23rd, which will likely result in one of the highest auctioned vehicles in recent history.
It’s likely Brady auctioned the Rolls-Royce to make room for something new, a standard move for the wealthy. While a 2024 Ghost wouldn’t be a difficult find for the average rich person, the famous name attached to it is undoubtedly the main selling point. Many spend years accumulating luxury items owned by celebrities, and for decades, vehicles of the stars have been highly sought after.
One such example is Elvis Presley’s 1969 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman limo. This rarity is a piece of history fit for the King of Rock and Roll himself. This vehicle was once titled and registered in Presley’s name, housed at his Graceland property in Memphis, Tennessee. In December 2020, it fetched $293,888 in an auction hosted by Bring a Trailer.
Singer Justin Bieber made headlines in 2017 when he auctioned his 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia, fully customized by West Coast Customs of Burbank, California. The car was sold through the 46th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, with the highest bidder coughing up $434,500.
In addition to individual celebrity cars, entire collections have made headlines, such as the auction of the late actor Paul Walker’s car collection in 2020. Barrett-Jackson also handled this sale, which saw 21 of his fast and furious whips going to new homes. Of the massive fleet, Walker’s 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight was one of the most sought-after, with just 4,600 miles on the dashboard. Ultimately, this antique whip brought in a winning bid of $385,000.
In 2021, another hot item hit the auction block. Michael Jordan’s 1996 Mercedes-Benz S600 Lorinser was sold by eBay’s Beverly Hills Car Club. With a starting bid of $23, the classic found a new home for an impressive $202,200.
These automotive auctions celebrate the legacies of these stars while paying homage to their impeccable taste in luxury cars.
