Baller Alert, Baller Alert, Baller Alert! Welcome back to another episode of The Baller Alert Show, available everywhere you get your podcast. On this episode, Amy Luciani joins the cast to discuss ‘writing’ for Cardi B, colorism in the industry, Renni Rucci beef, Love & Hip Hop and more.
“Tory Lanez got ten years. What y’all think about that,” asked OCT.
“I’m not one to cancel the culture. I think it was a little excessive. It was so many loops in this story that I couldn’t really pick a side and go with him or her,” said Amy.
“I thought he was going to get off,” said BT.
Raven Symone was encouraged to get surgery by her father.
“I had two breast reductions and lipo before I turned 18,” said Raven.
“My dad strongly suggested that I get my breast reduced,” said Raven.
“That’s so sad. People don’t even allow people to be people,” said Raven.
“That’s a Hollywood thing,” said OCT.
“When I was growing up, I didn’t even know what surgery was unless you like, broke your leg,” said BT.
“A lot of girls are changing on Lizzo right now. 6 more girls came out saying that she created a hostile work environment. Some of the new complaints say she failed to pay them,” said OCT.
The cast agreed that the girls were looking for money.

Amy shared that she is from Detroit but has lived in Atlanta for some years pursuing music and building her brand.
“My first name is Amber Rose. I’m the original Amber Rose. My day one fans know that,” said Amy.
“Did your mom push you to move to Atlanta to start music?” asked OCT.
“My mom is my manager. She still pushes me to this day,” said Amy.
“What was the breakthrough moment?” asked OCT.
“The breakthrough moment is when I stopped trying to chase a deal,” said Amy. “Every independent artist has that moment where they have a little desperation.”
Amy discussed colorism.
“You really feel like the labels are pushing light-skinned rappers?
“It’s not a new thing. It’s a historic thing that lighter looks brighter and more appealing to the eye. You have to get one or two token black girls who make it in the industry,” said Amy.
“With me, I try to be exclusive with my music,” said Amy. “I’m the black woman experience. I’m doing it for us.”
“What was your first successful moment where you felt like you got it now?” asked OCT.
“When I got a call to be in a writing session for some of the four biggest writers. That was the first time in my career that I felt like I was being heard,” said Amy.
“Can you share some of the artists you have worked for?” asked OCT.
“I can tell you some of the writing sessions that I have been in. The biggest is Cardi B,” said Amy.
“I always said I would sign, but it has to be the right position,” said Amy.
Amy shared that she started her own label, World of Dreams.
“If you look under my umbrella, I have things that y’all was going to fake pay a million dollars on,” said Amy.
Amy spoke about the beef she has with Renni Rucci.
“Her and I beef started when I reached out to her,” said Amy. Amy shared that she reached out to Renni Rucci over Renni Rucci performing a song that she wrote.
“I’m owed some money if you rapping a song that I and someone else wrote,” said Amy.
Amy also discussed her relationship.
“He said once we got into money that I turned into a bitch. In his language, his definition of a bitch was I was becoming his momma,” said Amy.
“I’m willing to do therapy with him,” said Amy.
