Baller Alert, Baller Alert, Baller Alert! Welcome back to another episode of The Baller Alert Show. Living legend in the building! Jeezy joins the cast to talk about his new book, “Adversity of Sale,” survivor’s remorse and more.
“My first motivational memoir is available in stores where books are sold on August 8th,” shared Jeezy.
Jeezy also shared that the audiobook was recorded with his voice. “The craziest thing about reading the book is that it was very therapeutic. When you actually have to read a book out loud, it forces you to go through those emotions. If it’s an intense moment, your voice has to go up. A lot of that stuff, I didn’t realize that I had actually gone through it,” said Jeezy.
“I always think it should be a case study about you because you are the main person that came from the environment you came from, and you made it,” said Ferrari. “I don’t think the percentages are that high for what you did with to overcome.”
“I know now that was my purpose. To lead by example and to do what I do. My grandma raised me to believe in God and to pray. I don’t regret anything that I went through. I think I played the game pretty well,” said Jezzy.
Jeezy gave props to T.I. for giving him a call and opening his eyes to how he could brand himself.
“He called me one day when I did the Snowman,” he said, ‘That is genius.’ I ain’t know what the hell he was talking about. He said, ‘You got a brand.’ Then I started to see the snowman everywhere,” said Jeezy.
“I always wanted to ask you this question. What’s your favorite album?” asked Ferrari.
“The Recession, because that was when things started to shift mentally for me. From Streetz iz Watchin to before I recorded the Recession, I was going through a lot of survivor’s remorse,” said Jeezy.
Jeezy shared that Jay Z was someone who reached out to him.
“He just told me that things happen and things to be mindful of. I was under the impression that if I changed anything, I’d lose it. Coming from him, I trusted that,” said Jeezy.
“When the Recession dropped, how was your reaction to your fans?” asked Ferrari.
“Imagine getting love in the streets. I was head first just in it,” said Jeezy.
“Money doesn’t change anything. What changed was the quality of life. I started getting real friends and people I love. Now you got hobbies, and you got things that you like to do,” said Jeezy.
“Why did yo decide to do the book now?” asked OCT.
“These are the things that I learned and I want to share them with you. It might apply to you in your corporate Job. You can read it and take different pieces out,” said Jeezy
“Can we talk about Agency 99?” asked Ferrari.
“Agency 99 was created because I always lived by the motto of giving everybody 99% and keeping 1% to yourself. Agency 99 started as a management company because it was a lot of things when I was being managed that I didn’t understand,” said Jeezy.
Jeezy described Agency 99 as a one-stop shop.
“What in the book is really going to shock people?” asked BT.
“I think the vulnerability. What was really on my heart and what was really in my mind. Just being open and transparent,” said Jeezy.
“What some advice that you can give new artist to protect themselves?” asked BT.
“First off, know that you are in a position of leadership. If you move a certain way, know that the extension of you will move a certain way. Get you some good people around you that’s gone be straight up with you,” said Jeezy.
