After a disappointing showing from their offense on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens acquired Wide Receiver Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday. In exchange, they will send a 2025 sixth-rounder and a pick in exchange for their fifth-round pick as well.
Johnson was a popular trade target for teams with imagined potential as Carolina’s disappointing season continued. The Ravens have given Lamar Jackson another weapon to push past the Kansas City Chiefs and potentially make it to their first Super Bowl in the Jackson era.
Johnson is in the final year of his contract and has been traded for the second time this season. He has caught 30 catches for 357 yards and two touchdowns. There were only two drops during the season as he had nursed a rib injury in the last few weeks. Another high-level target that hopefully catches more balls than Rashod Bateman
This is arguably Lamar Jackson’s best year of his career, and that is saying something for the two-time MVP. Johnson compliments an offense that ranks first in total yards offensively, first in rushing yards, and fifth in passing yards.
A volatile offense adds a high-level receiver that will only help their offense improve as their defense continues to struggle.
