Ashley Cain and his partner Safiyya Vorajee revealed that their baby daughter had lost her battle with leukemia. She was 8-months-old.
The 30-year-old star of MTV’s The Challenge posted the news to his social media Sunday.
Azaylia was born in August and was diagnosed with a “rare and aggressive form” of cancer in October.
“Rest In Paradise Princess. I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven,” he captioned the post.
Vorajee also posted a tribute to her daughter on her own Instagram account.
“You are my Angel my heartbeat my soul, RIP my precious baby, you will always be with me like a handprint on my heart,” she wrote.
Earlier this month, Cain revealed that doctors had found cancerous tumors throughout Azaylia’s body. Chemotherapy treatment was not working, and she could no longer travel to Singapore for CAR T-cell therapy because of the tumors in her brain.
Doctors then gave the baby girl only a couple of days to live but discussed possibly targeting the brain tumors with radiotherapy. But, another CT scan showed tumors in Azaylia’s spleen, lungs, stomach, and kidneys.
Because treatment wasn’t working, the couple made the difficult decision to bring their daughter home and make her as comfortable as possible. They were able to take Azaylia home in time for her 8-month birthday.
