Everyone was able to locate their assigned seat, which looked as if the seating was blended i.e hetero, LGBTQ, hetero etc. A three coursed meal was presented with dishes that were visually appealing and filled with flavor. Like, in many black households praying over food is custom. Raquell Cuffee led us in prayer and then the fun began.
As guests waited for the food to be served, Miss Lawrence shared his reasoning for this event. He shared it had been an idea for a while to have a conversation in order to bridge the game between black heterosexuals and black LGBTQ within the black community. Miss Lawrence also revealed that he never had a birthday dinner and felt he needed to silence himself while growing up because of his sexuality.
The entire event felt like a family gathering, although we all were different in many ways, we all shared one thing in common and that was being a part of the black race.
After our final course was severed, dinner was Closed with a toast by Bevy Smith.
Thank you Miss Lawrence for inviting Baller Alert to your very first ” The Family Dinner” installment. We wish you much success.
