The Game’s sexual assault accuser is now going after Universal Music Group to settle the $7.1 million judgment.
In 2016, Priscilla Rainey filed a lawsuit against the Compton rapper for sexual assault. Rainey claimed The Game got drunk and forced “his hands inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks” while filming VH1’s reality show “She Got Game.”
The court ultimately sided with Rainey and she was awared $7.1 million in damages despite her initially seeking $10 million. Since the ruling, The Game has maintained his innocence and denied Rainey’s claims.
In 2019, a judge granted Rainey’s motion to collect The Game’s music royalties until the $7.1 million is paid in full. However, Rainey has been having some trouble with trying to collect her earnings.
According to Rainey, she has only be able to accrue $383,502.39 from the rapper’s royalties. Neverthless, Rainey has decided to take it a step further and go after The Game’s music label, Universal Music Group, in order to get her money.
“Rainey respectfully requests that a post-judgment writ of garnishment be issued commanding Universal Music-MBG BA LLC, the Garnishee named above, to answer the writ of garnishment according to law, along with such other and further relief as this court seems just and proper,” the document says.
Meanwhile, The Game is unfazed by the legal issue and had previously vowed to not give Rainey any money. In 2016, the rapper said she “WILL NEVER see $10,000,000 or anything close 2 a penny of my money.”
