“The Proud Family” is bringing Normani, Lizzo, and more on as guest stars of the show.
You know we’re loving every single thing we learn about the reboot of Disney’s hit animated series “The Proud Family.” And this lineup of guest stars will make you scream or make you want to scream. That’s because actual real-life singers are going to playing characters on the show, including Lizzo.
On Wednesday, Disney announced the show’s celeb guest stars, including, Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Normani, Gabrielle Union, and Lena Waithe. Veteran “Proud Family” star Kyla Pratt is set to reprise her role as Penny Proud.
“I did the ‘Proud Family’ when I was 14 years old,” said Pratt during a discussion about the series. “I didn’t realize the impact that it had on me recording it, it was having that same impact on the people watching.” She added: “Even though it was on a kids’ network, it still had the right amount of edge for it to be accessible to everybody,”
Permanent roles on the show will be given to newcomers Billy Porter, Zachary Quinto, and EJ Johnson. Others to join as guest starts include Marsai Martin, Jaden Smith, Leslie Odom Jr., Chance the Rapper, and Tiffany Haddish.
