The Roots Picnic is returning for another summer, and the lineup is phenomenal.
Dubbed “hip-hop’s greatest festival” by Rolling Stone, this year’s Roots Picnic is living up to its name. On Monday, the 2024 two-day festival was announced, taking place at The Mann in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, PA, with headliners Nas and Jill Scott and a special collaborative set with Lil Wayne and The Roots. PJ Morton and Trombone Shorty will also join Weezy and the adored rap group for a New Orleans tribute.
Another memorable performance will be that of Outkast superstar Andre 3000. The elusive rapper turned instrumentalist will be hitting the stage to perform his November 2023 album, “New Blue Sun,” which is a full flute album and his first in 17 years. The Roots Picnic promises a concert with something for every rap and R&B lover, with acts such as Sexyy Red, Babyface, Wale, Tyla, Cam’Ron, and Tasha Cobbs, with performances from Method Man, Red Man, Muni Long, Fantasia, Baller Alert Presents Backyard Band featuring Scarface & Amerie and many more.
This year, Parkside Stage, formerly known as Podcast Stage, will host several of our favorite media personalities and podcasts, including Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Tonight’s Conversation, Juan Epstein Podcast, and several others, with a list of immersive experiences for audience members to enjoy.
The Roots Picnic will kick off on Saturday, June 1st, and conclude on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024. Tickets will go on sale starting Friday, February 23rd.
