Well, once again, the Spice Girls have decided to split and go their separate ways.
According to The Sun, the girl group has parted ways due to the COVID virus impacting their plans. The British pop group was set to return to the stage in 2023 for a world tour and debut an animated film inspired by their group. However, the COVID virus interfered with their future plans like many other things.
“It was going brilliant, but COVID killed the momentum,” a source tells The Sun. “Now it’s done again. There’s nothing on the agenda, and they’re focusing on their own things. A few years of lockdown and everyone’s back has turned on the group in favor of other projects.”
Geri (Ginger Spice) and Mel B (Scary Spice) were the ones who pushed for the world tour after being adamant about performing in Australia. However, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) wasn’t going to be a part of the world tour, but she would be featured in the cartoon film.
“Geri is talking about new TV things, Emma has TV and radio work, and the two Mels are focusing on their own stuff. Victoria certainly isn’t going to be the one to bring it back to life, so it has fizzled out. They’re done,” the source adds.
In 2019, the ladies did a 13 date stadium tour with over 700,000 fans in attendance collectively. The tour did well and ranked approximately $80 million despite Victoria not being in attendance.
