“The Wire” Actor Lance Reddick Has Reportedly Passed Away

“The Wire” and “John Wick” actor Lance Reddick has reportedly passed away.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say that Lance was found deceased at his residence in Studio City at 9:30 AM on Friday morning. Although the cause of his death is not yet determined, it seems to have occurred naturally.

In 1996, Reddick received his first on-screen acting role in the TV series “New York Undercover.” During the 90s, he continued to appear in numerous television shows and movies such as “The Nanny” and “The West Wing.”

The 60-year-old star was best known for his role as Cedrick Daniels in the crime drama series, “The Wire.” Throughout the entire five-season of the show, Reddick portrayed a lawyer turned lieutenant who was in charge of the narcotics team within the Baltimore Police Department. The team focused on investigating and apprehending the local drug trafficker Avon Barksdale, played by Wood Harris.

Charon, a hotel concierge, was another significant character played by the actor in the “John Wick” franchise. Recently, Reddick had been busy with promotional activities for the film’s fourth installment. However, he was not present at the film’s red carpet premiere earlier this week.

Reddick is survived by his wife, Stephanie Reddick, and his children, Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
