There’s A Good Reason Religion Is A Touchy Subject

The question has been asked a million times, ‘How Important Is Religion In A Relationship’? Many would say it’s a deal breaker. I’ve come to realize that religion is everything, but most importantly a very touchy subject. Heated debates and sometimes fights have been the result of religious differences. Even wars have been started over religious differences.

Why is religion such a touchy subject? Let’s start with the obvious. Some people decipher the Bible however they want and think they are right. And if they are right, anything outside of what they believe is wrong. There is no room for grey area. I was perusing Facebook and came upon a man who considers himself a man of God. On his Facebook wall he tackles a bunch of subjects, this one in particular being ladies that where high heels:

“HERE IS A LITTLE HISTORY TODAY ON THE SHOE CALLED THE HIGH HEEL LOL. THIS WAS DURING THE TIME NOAH WHEN THE FALLING ANGELS WAS COMING DOWN TEACHING MEN AND WOMEN THINGS TO CREATE A LUCERFARIAN WORLD TO ONE DAY GO AGAINST GOD. IT WAS ALOT OF BEASTIALITY GOING ON MEN WAS ASLO HAVING SEX WITH ANIMALS AND CREATING ALL KIND OF FOUL BEAST. WOMEN TOO. SCIENTIST WAS BREEDING ALL KIND OF THINGS TO CONSUME GODS PEOPLE. SO THE WOMEN STARTED TO MAKE A SHOE TO COPY THE IMAGE OF THE BULL. SO THEY CAN STAND ON THERE TIP TOES TO WALK LIKE A HORSE TO ATTRACT THE MEN THEY WANTED. IT WAS CREATED BY WITCHES. NOW THE HIGH HEEL IS NORMAL IN TODAYS WORLD. IT WS THE ULTIMATE WITCHCRAFT SHOE TO CAST A SPELL ON HER ENHANCMENT. NOW DEMONS CAN ENTER AS THEY PLEASE. AND REEP UPON THE EARTH AFTER HER LOVERS”

Ignore the all caps, misspellings and punctuation, I copied this directly from his page as he wrote it. Take a moment to really take in what he is saying. Basically he is saying that somewhere in the book of Exodus women were using high heels as a form of trickery to appear more like animals to men who practiced beastiality. Somehow these women were also witches and were doing the Devil’s work, allowing demons to enter into heaven. Now, I don’t know what part of the Bible he got all of this from but I do believe that somehow he read something that made him form this extravagant “story”. Now imagine him saying this in a more public forum outside of Facebook. Imagine the women like myself who wear high heels and can easily detect that this guy is nothing short of an idiot? I can commend him for having some sort of religious believe but not to the point where he’s passing judgement. 

Judgement is another reason religion is such a touchy subject. There are quite a few people that use religion and God’s word as a crutch to lean on so that they can judge you, your beliefs and your lifestyle. They say negative things then blame it on God. Well, that’s not the God I know and He is the only one that can judge me. 

I’ve learned that avoiding the religious conversations is the best way to keep your friends and your loved ones “friends and loved ones”. I think that respecting and accepting people’s religious beliefs is one thing that we as a people have got to learn to work on. You may miss out on having wonderful people in your life simply because they think a little differently than you do.
