Thousand Oaks Massacre Marks The 307th Mass Shooting In 311 Days This Year

As previously reported, a deadly shooting occurred this week in Thousand Oaks, CA that took the lives of at least 12 people at a country music bar. This incident marks the 307th mass shooting in the U.S. this year. What the hell is going on?

The crazy part is that the 307th mass shooting took place on the 311th day of the year. That’s literally almost equivalent to one a day. According to data from the Gun Violence Archive, the #ThousandOaks shooting is the latest massacre in the country. The numbers include incidents in which four or more people were shot or killed, not including the shooters. Their data also shows 328 people died in those incidents and 1,251 were injured.

Just three weeks ago, a synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh left 11 elderly people dead and more recently, a series of 16 bombs were mailed to prominent Democrats, CNN and critics of #DonaldTrump. Violence in the country is on the rise.

The Thousand Oaks incident is also one of the deadliest mass shootings in the U.S. in 2018  since 17 classmates and teachers were killed in a Parkland, Florida school on Valentine’s Day.

2018 had quite a few high-profile mass shootings, including the incidents where five people were gunned down in the newsroom of the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, in June, ten people where fatally shot at Santa Fe High School in May and four people were killed at a Waffle House in Nashville, Tennessee, in April.⠀⠀⠀

Why do you think all of this violence is happening in America? Or is the answer obvious?
