A late-night political discussion took a violent turn in Miami early Thursday, leading to the shooting of three women. According to police, the incident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Northwest 19th Street.
City of Miami police spokesperson Officer Michael Vega shared that a group of people had been drinking and engaging in a discussion centered around politics. Tensions escalated, prompting one individual to retrieve a firearm from a vehicle and open fire.
The shooting left three women injured. While one of the victims remains hospitalized in critical condition, the other two are reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have not disclosed any additional information about the suspect or potential motives. The Miami Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward by contacting either the department directly or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers.
