Sailor Moon is making a comeback on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim after a 20-year hiatus from the airwaves.
Adult Swim made the announcement on Facebook, revealing that for the first time, they would be airing the new uncensored English version of Sailor Moon.
From 1998 to 2002, the show was altered to make it kid-friendly when it was on Cartoon Network’s Toonami block.
In the past, the original English dub of Sailor Moon changed character names, removed Japanese cultural references, cut episodes, and altered LGBTQ+ storylines, portraying Sailor Neptune and Uranus as cousins instead of lovers.
Millennials can look forward to watching the series on Friday, May 31st.
