The long-standing beef between T.I. and 50 Cent has officially hit a dead end. While fans have spent years debating who has the better catalog, T.I. made it clear that the window for a Verzuz battle has officially closed.
A new trending clip from a recent sit-down, featuring Tip explaining the exact moment he decided to pull the plug on the potential matchup. According to T.I., the tension isn’t just about music, it’s about a private conversation that went left.
T.I. detailed a meeting in Los Angeles where the two were actually working on business outside of music. We was out in L.A. pitching some TV and movie shit to these companies, me and him together, and we chopping it up, and he was like, yeah man, we should do that Verzuz thing, that sounds like a good look, let’s make that happen,” T.I. recalled. Taking the G-Unit mogul at his word, Tip decided to move the energy to the public stage. “So I’m like, cool, bet. I go on social media, I call him out, I say let’s do it, you know what I’m saying, let’s get it in.”
However, the excitement was short-lived. T.I. alleges that as soon as the challenge became public, 50 Cent’s demeanor shifted from a business partner to an internet antagonist. “Next thing I know, he acting like he ain’t never said that shit. He start trolling, he start doing all this other shit, ducking and dodging and playing games,” T.I. said. For the Atlanta legend, the “ducking and dodging” wasn’t just competitive banter, it was a character flaw.
“Man, that shit lame to me. Like, if you was man enough to say it to my face when we sitting right there, then be man enough to stand on it when I put it out there. But nah, he backed out, changed his mind, whatever you want to call it.”
The fallout from this alleged beef has effectively ended any chance of the two sharing a stage. T.I. admitted that the situation changed how he views 50 Cent entirely. “After that, I just lost respect for him, straight up. Ain’t no point in us even sharing a stage now. I don’t even want to do it no more. That whole energy just turned me off,” he revealed.
This sentiment follows a month of heavy trades, including 50’s “King Rat” comments and Tip’s confident claims on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco that he would easily out perform 50 in a hits battle.
