T.I. and Tiny’s hit VH1 family reality series has been suspended following sexual abuse allegations made against the stars.
According to Deadline, “T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle” will be shutting down production until the network can get down to the bottom of recent claims made against the couple. Last week, a woman named Sabrina Peterson made several allegations against the T.I. and Tiny, which included sex trafficking and drugging women. The woman, who apparently was once the couple’s friend, also claimed the rapper put a gun to her head and threaten to shoot her.
Since then, the couple has denied “in the strongest way possible the egregiously appalling allegations,” and now they are possibly seeking legal action against Peterson. “We are aware of the allegations, and while they are not connected to our show, we have reached out to T.I. and Tameka Harris, as well as local and state officials,” an MTV Entertainment spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline. “Given the serious nature of the allegations, we have decided to suspend production in order to gather more information.” Deadline reports that the decision was a mutual agreement between MTV Entertainment, T.I., and Tiny.
In his personal response to the allegations, Tip took to Instagram and denied Peterson’s accusations, saying in a post, “No weapon formed against us shall prosper. We vehemently deny ALL these disgusting, anonymous allegations.” He went more into depth in an Instagram video.
“What we not going to do is open up the door to my bedroom. Whatever we ever have done, has been done with consensual adults who [are] into what we into and like what we like. If we want something, we know exactly where to go get it. We’ve never forced anybody, we’ve never drugged anybody against their will, we’ve never held anybody against their will. We’ve never made anybody do anything. We never sexually trafficked anything.”
A representative for the Harris family also sent out a statement regarding the accusations. “Mr. and Mrs. Harris want to be on record and more importantly want the public to know they emphatically deny in the strongest way possible the egregiously appalling allegations being made against them by Sabrina Peterson,” the statement shared with Complex reads. “The Harrises have had difficulty with this woman for well over a decade. They are taking this matter very seriously, and if these allegations don’t end, they will take appropriate legal action.”
