As actress Tia Mowry continues to give us some insight into her personal life, she recently shared an emotional moment after receiving unsettling news from her doctor.
In her “Tia Mowry: My Next Act” series, the “Sister, Sister” star received a call from her doctor while in the car with her assistant, Ciara. Deeply shaken, Mowry learned that her mammogram test results came back abnormal.
“What that means is that we’d like to schedule you to come in for a biopsy as soon as possible so we can get some further insight,” the woman on the phone said.
While Mowry’s assistant attempted to console her, the news stunned the actress as she explained how the results triggered something in her far deeper than a health scare. In a confessional, Mowry shared how much she has invested in her mental health and revealed that cancer has claimed the lives of her grandmother and aunt.
“I feel like right when I’m working on my mental health because of what I’m going through, now this is my health,” Mowry stated. She continued, “I have been doing so much to take care of my mental health. I’ve been meditating, I’ve been journaling, but I’m scared. I don’t know what to expect.”
Nonetheless, her assistant reassured her that everything would be okay and reminded her not to think negatively until she learned more about the results.
“Let’s not jump the gun,” Ciara tells Mowry. “They didn’t say that you have cancer. Let’s not self-diagnose.”
She later added in a confessional, “When we’re in a situation like this, I’m always gonna be that sounding board. Get it out. It’s better out than in. She has an amazing team of doctors, a very well-rounded team of doctors, and there’s no need to worry.”
As of now, it’s. unknown what the results of her biopsy were.
