Tia Mowry reveals that her husband, Cory Hardrict, made more money than her for his first television appearance.
In the latest episode of Tia’s ‘Quick Fix” YouTube series, the twin actress talks about wage gaps with actresses Loretta Devine and Jackée Harry.
The conversation begins with Tia asking the veteran actresses about changes they want to happen in the entertainment industry. Jackée answers first by saying she’ll like better writers. At the same time, Loretta mentions having equal pay throughout Hollywood.
Mowry then chimes in agreeing with Devine and even speaks on her own experience with pay differences within her household.
“I even see it, ’cause my husband, he’s an actor, Cory,” Tia says. “Mr. Cory Hardrict, and when he booked a role, he was getting paid more money than me, and I’m like, ‘what?’”
Cory started his acting career in the ’90s and has had a few supporting and minor roles in films like ‘Brotherly Love’ and ‘Gran Torino.”Cory is currently starring in CW’s hit series “All-American: Homecoming.”
Mowry continues by mentioning her acting career that has been going on for decades now and how she feels his pay was based on his gender.
“I have been in this business for so long. I have shown my credibility. And this is, like, Cory’s first television show. And I think it was because he is a male,” Mowry adds.
The topic discussion ends with Harry giving props to both actors and Mowry saying she only mentioned her husband because she has firsthand experience.
“But it’s the truth. What I’m saying is I actually got to see it in my household.”
