Tiffany Haddish discusses her recent DUI arrest while performing in a comedy set.
On Friday, Haddish took the stage at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, California. As per audio recordings obtained by TMZ, a member of the audience inquired about the comedian’s Beverly Hills arrest. Reportedly, she was discovered asleep behind the wheel with the car’s engine still running.
“What happened last night?” Haddish said. “Ah, damn. “You tell me. I don’t know.”
The 47-year-old actress then humorously said that her prayers to end up with a man in a uniform had undeniably come true.
“I prayed to God to send me a man with a job. Preferably in a uniform,” she joked. “God answered my prayers. Because God believes in me.”
After her performance on Friday, Haddish was seen getting into the rear seat of a black SUV alongside producer Jeff Beacher. Both seemed to be in high spirits. Haddish was dressed in an off-the-shoulder, red silky top, accessorized with hoop earrings featuring a pendant, and wearing an Apple Watch.
Haddish’s punchline echoes a joke she shared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” after her DUI arrest in Georgia in 2022.
“I can say this, Jimmy… I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four… in uniform,” Haddish told Fallon earlier this year. “And now I got a really great lawyer, and we’re going to work it out. I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better!”
