Just weeks after news surfaced of the renewal of TBS’ “The Last O.G.” starring Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish, ABC has announced the revival of the CBS comedy series, “Kids Say the Darnedest Things.”
Based on the segment of the same name, which aired as part of the Art Linkletter’s radio and television show, “Art Linkletter’s House Party,” which ran from 1945 to 1969, “Kids Say the Darndest Things” is set to return the fall with Haddish as the host.
“When I was dreaming of stars I wanted to bring to ABC, Tiffany Haddish was top of my list,” ABC entertainment president Karey Burke said, adding that Haddish will serve as both the host and executive producer. “Tiffany starring in and producing this iconic series is everything I hoped for.”
“It’s a warm and funny family program that is sure to provide both tears and peals of laughter to viewers of all ages,” president of CBS Tv Studios, which owns the rights to the format, said. Meanwhile, Haddish opened up about her excitement, saying, “I’m excited to hear what kids have to say these days because I can’t understand what they are saying on social media.”
“They’re using too many abbreviations,” Haddish said.
The show, which will be taped in front of a live studio audience, complete with in-studio segments, will feature Haddish talking and interacting with children. It will also air on Sundays at 8 pm, between “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “Shark Tank.”
Congratulations to Tiffany Haddish.
