It’s no secret that Tiger Woods is one of the greatest athletes to master an 18-hole competition. Woods, clinched his 80th PGA Tour win after a long five-year drought and this one is special.
“I’m just blessed, I’m just lucky. I am lucky, it worked out for me. My back was in a pretty bad spot there,” Woods told CNN. The legendary golfers’ back pain and personal life seemed to get in the way of his successful career which at a point became an “unknown” to him.
“We’re through an unknown and that was the hardest part, it was an unknown — I didn’t know if I’d be able to do this again or to what level or what degree and here we are with 80 wins,” CNN reports.
Woods is also happy to leave some precious memories of the sport he loves with his kids, he stated in a post-tournament press conference. “A lot of times they equated golf to pain because every time I did, it’d hurt and it’d cause me more pain and now they’re seeing a little bit of joy and seeing how much fun it is for me to be able to do this again,” Woods explained.
The PGA Tour win came with a $3-million-dollar payout, according to the Golf Channel and many sources believe that endorsements will take a chance on him again after previously losing over $50 million in endorsements.
