TikTok is enhancing the TikToker experience by possibly implementing a “Watch History” element that’ll allow users to easily go back to the videos they’ve previously watched.
While the app has blown up in recent years, users’ biggest gripe is that it can be difficult to relocate a video they watch if they forgot to save it. Now, they are testing the “Watch History” option, which will be located under the “Content and Activity” heading in the “Settings.” This streamlined process has already begun testing, meaning that some TikTok users may see the option in their settings. When TechCrunch asked the company if they planned to offer the feature to more users, they would not confirm or deny many details.
In true TikTok fashion, users have found several ways around the watch history dilemma prior to the new test. Earlier this year, user “Rachforaday” shared a video instructing users to go to the Discover page, click search, enter an asterisk, go to the search filters tab and toggle the “watched videos” button. After clicking apply, users will get a list of videos they’ve viewed in the past seven days. Another hack for TikTokers to find those great videos they failed to save is by downloading their app data to a zip file that contains “video browsing history.”

It remains unclear when the “Watch History” feature will become permanently implemented.
