TikTok continues its push for Snapchat-style stories by making the feature available to more users.
In a statement this week, TikTok confirmed that theyād be making the feature available to additional accounts. They said that the element brings ācreative ideas to life for the TikTok community.ā
The new feature works much like Snapchat, Instagram Stories, and the former Twitter Fleets. You may upload a video or photo for 24 hours. Users who have not yet used it will see a new banner when opening the app soon, informing them that the story feature is available. You may also use the same filters and editing tools in the short-style clips. Unlike a regular TikTok video, which is often short as well, stories wonāt show up directly on your profile or feed. While the component is still considered a pilot program, it appears promising, and the platform is moving forward with its implementation.
The only detail that TikTok stories lack is the scrolling bar of stories from accounts you follow to tap through.
To post a story, simply click the āpostā button on the bottom center navigation bar of the app. Then scroll to a āquickā camera mode, which allows users to post a photo or a video to their story.
