Tina Knowles has reportedly finalized her divorce from actor Richard Lawson.
Recently, there have been several reports that Knowles was ready to end the relationship for good. According to multiple outlets, the hairstylist turned over the last financial documents required to finalize their split this week, and on Thursday, the specifics were revealed. Knowles paid Lawson a $300,000 one-time payment in what appears to have been a pre-agreed-upon arrangement.
In addition to the money, Lawson and Knowles both signed a non-disparagement clause. This clause bars them from publicly speaking negatively about one another, and it also applies to the couple’s children and their spouses. We know Knowles as the mother of superstars Beyonce and Solange, and Lawson has a son, Ricky, and a daughter, actress Bianca Lawson. None of the children have spoken publicly about the split.
Knowles filed for divorce in July 2023, though it was unclear why. She cited irreconcilable differences but did not elaborate in interviews about why the relationship failed. Even after Knowles filed the paperwork, the divorce stalled for a year until this week. The couple exchanged vows in 2015 in Newport Beach, California, in front of their famous children and other loved ones.
Lawson continues to work in Hollywood, most recently in the Tyler Perry film, “Divorce in the Black.” Knowles is keeping busy with her and Bey’s latest venture, the Cecred hair brand.
