In her Instagram caption, Knowles shared the bittersweet memory of celebrating her birthday in Malibu just days before the fire:
“This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!”
Despite her personal loss, she expressed immense gratitude for the firefighters and first responders who worked tirelessly to save lives and contain the fires:
“God Bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions. We Thank you for your dedication and bravery and for saving so many lives.”
Knowles also expressed her deep sympathy for those who lost family members, homes, and belongings in the wildfires.
“My deepest prayers are with you! To the people who lost their homes and belongings, I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you own. My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you.”
Offering a message of hope, she reassured her followers of Los Angeles’s resilience: “We are resilient though, and we will recover! ‘This too shall pass.’”
Knowles ended her post with advice, urging those in the Los Angeles area to prioritize their health amidst the lingering smoke and poor air quality.
“If in LA, please get some air purifiers for your home—there is a good one on Amazon for $99. God be with us!”
