Tina Knowles-Lawson Praises Method Man For Heartfelt Destiny’s Child Apology

Tina Knowles-Lawson is applauding rapper Method Man for owning up to an unpleasant encounter with Destiny’s Child years ago.

Days ago, the Wu-Tang Clan member sat down with Math Hoffa for his “My Expert Opinion” podcast. During the conversation, Meth revealed that he dissed the famed girl group at the 2004 MOBO Awards because he felt they ignored him when he tried to say hello. The “Power Book II: Ghost” actor says the incident occurred while he was still in his “low self-esteem era,” which caused him to believe that the ladies were being rude to him when in reality, they did not hear him speak to them. Shortly after, the girls greeted him and attempted to shake his hand, which he refused. Instead, he replied, “Go ‘head with that Hollywood s**t.” Meth admitted that he handled the situation wrong.

“Neither Kelly, Beyoncé, or Michelle ever did any f*****g thing to me, but me being so miserable and in that f*****g moment, I felt like they wasn’t treating me the way I should have been treated,” he explained regretfully. In the end, he addressed the group directly, stating, “y’all did not deserve that at all.”

While the members of Destiny’s Child have not reacted publicly, Mama Knowles let it be known that the apology meant a lot to her. She shared a clip of Method’s interview on her Instagram page to highlight the accountability he displayed.

“Thank you Method Man. It takes a real man to tell this story! Such a great example for other young men,” she wrote in the caption.
