Tina Turner has been dealt another devastating blow with the loss of yet another son.Â
The legendary singer’s son, Ronnie Turner, passed away Thursday morning. Authorities received a call shortly after 9:00 a.m. requesting medical assistance for Ronnie, who was apparently outside of his Encino, California home. The caller reported that the 62-year-old was having trouble breathing. When first responders arrived, Ronnie was no longer responsive, and bystanders attempted CPR. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
Ronnie is the second son that Tina Turner has had to say goodbye to in just four years. In July 2018, her oldest son Craig took his own life at age 59. Tina described him as being a “very shy person” who was personally affected by the abuse his mother suffered at the hand of her former husband, Ike Turner, who adopted Craig once he married his artist-turned-wife. Tina also adopted Ike’s two oldest sons from a previous relationship, Ike Turner, Jr., and Michael Turner.
In a somber Instagram post, Turner mourned her son, stating, “Ronnie, you left the world far too early.”
While Ronnie is widely known as the child of the infamous Ike and Tina, he found success as an musician, actor and real estate broker. He appeared in his mother’s 1993 biopic “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “Ray,” the 2004 biopic of late singer Ray Charles and several other roles over the years. He has been married to his wife, french singer, and media personality Afida Turner, since 2007. She also expressed her grief on IG, calling he husband “a true angel.”
No cause of death has been revealed.
