Tinder has unveiled a fresh subscription offering with a monthly price tag of approximately $500.
Tinder Select is a “VIP” service available exclusively to roughly 1% of the dating app’s most interactive users. The service gives users access to exclusive features, such as “Skip The Line.” This feature permits others to view your profile after you’ve liked them. Additionally, Tinder Select offers a “Direct Message” capability, allowing users to send up to two messages a week to someone without matching.
To access the service, users have to apply and fulfill the company’s “5-point Select Screen” criteria. This includes having a verified photo, “show a relationship intent,” and having a profile that contains four images, five interests, and a biography.
“We know that there is a subset of highly engaged and active users who prioritize more effective and efficient ways to find connections,” said Tinder’s chief product officer Mark Van Ryswyk said. “So we engaged in extensive tests and feedback with this audience over the past several months to develop a completely new offering.”
Tinder provides three additional paid subscription levels: Tinder+, Tinder Gold, and Tinder Platinum, with monthly costs starting at $24.99. The company, founded in 2012, is a subsidiary of Match.com. According to its website, the app has amassed 340 million downloads and is accessible in 190 countries.
