Fresh off the success of the return and rebranding of the ‘90s R&B group Xscape, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, one-fourth of the original vocal quartet, has officially reached a new plateau in her career. After more than two decades in the business, as both a Grammy-award winning singer and songwriter, Tiny has stepped into a new lane as a solo artist.
In fact, during a listening party for her forthcoming project, Tiny explained why she decided to make the shift. “Sometimes it’s harder to branch out from what they [the fans] know…I thought, maybe if I create something different with this new music, maybe they’ll get into it,” Harris said.
But in an interview with Baller Alert, the singer elaborated on her decision, adding that a portion of her journey will be featured on her hit show, “The Friends and Family Hustle.” She also revealed that she’s working with her talented children in the process.
“I have a song with Zonnique already,” she said. “It will be on my project, and King wants me to do a little something on one of his songs.”
As Tiny continued, she opened up about how she’s able to balance life, family, and friends on a reality television show.
“Well, you let people know what’s acceptable for you to deal with,” Tiny said. “And the rest of it, you have to keep for yourself and keep private for your own sanity.”
As for a successful relationship, she said, “You just gotta keep working at it every day.”
