During an interview shortly before his death, Tommy “Tiny” Lister appeared to be seriously unwell. The actor was clearly out of breath and continuously attempting to clear his throat.
Tiny appeared with Brandon Jay on his podcast and vowed to take the coronavirus vaccine. As a person with diabetes, he would’ve been eligible to be one of the first to receive it.
“I could tell he was sick, but I did not want to interfere with the continuity of the interview, so I tried to keep it fun, that’s what Tiny is all about, he’s a class act,” Jay told The Daily Mail.
He appeared wearing a mask for the entire interview; declaring, he “had work to do.”
“And they got the vaccine right,” he said. “So the vaccine gives you 12 months, I’m taking that vaccine, I’m taking it.”
His inspiration for taking the vaccine came from former presidents: Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton volunteering to publicly receive the vaccine. He was looking forward to getting back to work after receiving his.
He discussed his plans to spend the holidays at home watching basketball and spending time with his daughter, Faith.
The beloved Hollywood star had been diagnosed with the virus earlier this year. It is unknown if he was re-infected or if his symptoms were a continuation of the first infection.
Lister, 62, died on Thursday from COVID-19 related complications. His autopsy results are pending.
We received another video of Tiny in his final days. RIP
