Happy New Year Baller Alert Family!!!
I know many of you have begun day 1 of your New Year’s Resolution, whether it was health, fitness, career, education, etc., and you feel like this is “The Year.” Of course, many of us do it every year, “New Year, New Me” and by March your ship has sunk. To help keep you on track, try keeping these tips in mind.
Prepare yourself– Take some time for yourself and create your goals for the New Year. Take small steps to reach your goals. Realize that achieving any goal takes planning, preparation, and time. Create a vision board or simply write down you goals, either way pace it somewhere you’ll look at it everyday. Remember seeing is believing. Control your destiny and speak it into existence for yourself.
Expect Setbacks- Change can be hard and you’ll probably experience some setbacks as you make changes in your life. Setbacks don’t mean you’ll never move forward. You begin thinking of giving up but instead of beating yourself up for “failing,” get back on your goals. You’ll feel much better for it.
Make Adjustments- Remember things change so don’t hesitate to make changes where you see fit.
Support System- Support makes all the difference. Keep in mind you may not be able to share everything with everyone but know who’s truly there for you Find someone or multiple people who will support and help you with planning strategies to help you reach your goal(s). The right people in your corner will also serve to keep you on track toward your goal(s).
Don’t Make Comparisons– Comparing yourself to others can be self-defeating. While finding a buddy to share your progress is helpful, don’t let someone else’s progress get you down. Your only competition is yourself. Resist the urge to compare yourself to others.
Don’t Over Analyze – Don’t do it to yourself! Evaluating your progress every day often ends in frustration. Progress updates every week or every two weeks are better since enough time will have lapsed for even small changes to be evident.
Reward Yourself-Remember you’re your own biggest supporter. Don’t be afraid to give yourself a pat on the back when you make progress. Be sure to plan rewards after you’ve taken a step toward reaching your goal.
Keep in mind with the New Year you have 365 days to improve yourself. Don’t give up on yourself so easily. If at first try it doesn’t work out try again. Remember success takes time and comes with the proper mindset. Good luck!
