Todd Chrisley is breaking his silence after serving 28 months in federal prison, and he’s coming out swinging—with a new nickname. During an emotional sit-down on daughter Savannah Chrisley’s podcast “Unlocked,” Todd revealed what kept him going during his incarceration: faith, friendships, and being dubbed “Teflon Todd” by his fellow inmates.
“I feel like I did a podcast for 28 months with all the people that were around me,” he said. “They called me ‘Teflon Todd.’”
Chrisley and his wife Julie, were convicted in 2022 on charges of tax evasion, wire fraud, and conspiracy, but were both pardoned by Donald Trump earlier this year. Savannah publicly pushed for the pardon, blaming the judge appointed by President Obama for allowing “illegal” evidence.
“In my head, I was still free,” Todd said. “I did not take up residence there. I was in prison; prison was not in me.” He leaned on scripture and formed bonds with other inmates, including Rick Singer, the man behind the college admissions scandal.
With the past behind them, the Chrisleys are now prepping for a new Lifetime show that follows their post-prison comeback.
