In an unprecedented move, Tom Brady, for the first time in his career, will play his NFL home games elsewhere after he announced via Twitter on Tuesday he will not return to the New England Patriots.
However, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that despite Brady’s statement, the quarterback “has not made a decision on where he will play next season, and he will be exploring his options.”
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers “made a strong offer” to Brady worth $30 million per season “or more.” But, he also said the Chargers made a similar offer.
No matter where Brady decides to go, it’s without question that he’ll go down as arguably the greatest quarterback, and perhaps player, in NFL history.
In the wake of the news, Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft and Head Coach Bill Belichick released statements about Brady’s career and departure.

The superstar is a six-time Super Bowl champion, four-time Super Bowl MVP, 14-time Pro Bowler and three-time NFL MVP. Since becoming a securing his starting position in 2001, the led the Patriots to 17 AFC East titles, 17 postseason berths and nine trips to the Super Bowl.
