That’s Baller: Tom Brady’s Luxurious Watch Collection Brings In $9 Million at Auction

Tom Brady’s stunning watch collection has fetched millions at auction.

According to The Athletic, a total of $9 million was raised thanks largely to the sale of the retired NFL star’s watches at Sotheby’s in New York, with bidders from 45 countries participating. Dubbed “The GOAT Collection: Watches & Treasures from Tom Brady,” the auction also included iconic memorabilia such as college football jerseys from his University of Michigan days and NFL game-worn jerseys from his tenures with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Other memorabilia included the helmet from his last Patriots game and the tracksuit signed by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon from the “DunKings” Super Bowl ad were also present. Notably, the t-shirt Brady wore for the 2000 NFL Combine also drew attention.

However, the standout pieces were Brady’s luxury watches, including pieces from Patek Philippe, Rolex, and IWC. A custom Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon, worn during Netflix’s Greatest Roast of All Time: The Roast of Tom Brady, sold for $720,000. The highest-selling timepiece was a Rolex Daytona “John Player Special” in yellow gold, which exceeded expectations by fetching $1.14 million.

The auction exceeded its estimated $5.2 to $8.9 million range, with 800 registered participants driving up the average sale price to $219,629.

“It has been truly gratifying to witness the warm reception from collectors and sports fans,” said Sotheby’s Brahm Wachter, emphasizing the respect for Brady’s remarkable legacy.

His watch collection has been valued at $6 million, one of the priciest among his athlete peers.
