He’s backkkk! Patriots fans can breathe a sigh of relief. This morning, U.S. District Judge Richard Berman, who was presiding over the case between Brady and the NFL, ruled in Brady’s favor and overturned the quarterback’s 4-game suspension. The two parties were not able to reach a settlement on their own, so they left it up to Judge Berman to make the final decision. After hearing both sides, Berman determined that there was not enough solid evidence to prove Brady’s involvement in the Deflategate scandal and he nullified the suspension.
Per ESPN:
“A federal judge deflated Deflategate on Thursday, erasing New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game suspension for a controversy that the NFL claimed threatened football’s integrity.
U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell went too far in affirming punishment of the Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Brady has insisted he played no role in a conspiracy to deflate footballs below the allowable limit at last season’s AFC Championship Game.
The written decision frees Brady to prepare for the Sept. 10 season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.”
Well, that’s good news for my fantasy team! Poor Jimmy G…I guess he’ll just have to wait a little longer for his time to shine.
Now that Deflategate is officially over and done with, who’s ready for some football?!
