Tomi Lahren learned the hard way what happens when you have an independent thought outside of what your employer pays you to say. The right-wing puppet is now facing suspension after pulling herself out of the sunken place and claiming to be pro-choice.
The 24-year-old host of “Tomi” on The Blaze usually spends her time ruffling the feathers of Black Lives Matter supporters and feminists. She considers herself an avid Trump supporter and when it comes to liberals, she believes they’re “snowflakes.” Most people aren’t fond of Lahren and think that she is a puppet being used by the conservative website to push hatred. Those people may be right.
On Friday, Lahren appeared on The View where she surprisingly revealed that she supports abortion rights and doesn’t believe the government should control women’s bodies.
“I am a constitutional, you know, someone that loves the Constitution. I’m someone that’s for limited government. So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies,” said Lahren. “I can sit here and say that, as a Republican and I can say, you know what, I’m for limited government, so stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well.”
The public was shocked to hear Lahren’s view on abortion, considering that she is anti-feminism and called abortion murder just three months ago.
Lahren further explained herself in a tweet on Saturday, “Listen, I am not glorifying abortion. I don’t personally advocate for it. I just don’t think it’s the government’s place to dictate.”
Apparently, her comments did not hold well with her employer. According to The Daily Beast, Lahren has been suspended from her controversial commentary show. According to The Daily Caller, another conservative outlet, Lahren’s “suspension is in effect for at least one week.” The publication also says that Lahren’s contract with The Blaze expires in September, but it’s possible she could leave before then.
The Blaze did not go into detail regarding Lahren’s suspension, however, her employer Glenn Beck spent a lot of time combatting her comments on both Twitter and his talk radio show.
“If you’re pro-choice, you can have a job at TheBlaze,” Beck said on his radio show. “I don’t hire people who are sycophants or have my opinion.”
He then spent the rest of the time arguing with Lahren’s “hypocrite” claim, saying, “It takes intellectual honesty and a willingness to actually think these things through, and to do more than just read Twitter and Facebook to get your news and opinions.”
Beck also tweeted, “Rule another label out. I am NOT a “constitutional”. I believe in LIFE, liberty and property. Just an old fashioned “constitutionalist.””
I don’t pity Lahren. Hope she learned a valuable lesson.
