According to his autopsy, Tommy “Tiny” Lister, star of “Friday,” died of heart disease.
Despite having COVID-19 at the time of his death, the actor died of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to the autopsy report.
The autopsy also revealed that a nasal swab tested positive for COVID-19 and that the actor from “The Fifth Element” died with fluid in his chest. He also suffered from an overweight heart, high blood pressure, impaired leg circulation, and coronary artery disease.
On December 10, 2020, Lister was discovered dead in his house. He was 62 years old at the time.
Lister’s manager, Cindy Cowan, said at the time that the star had been experiencing coronavirus-like symptoms in recent days and that he also had Type 2 diabetes.
The “No Holds Barred” star expressed optimism about Hollywood and the coronavirus vaccine in his last interview before his death.
“Hollywood gonna crank all the way back up in January,” Lister predicted. “They got the vaccine, give it a couple months, and I’m taking it. I’m taking that vaccine.”
According to Cowan, Lister started to feel ill about the time of the interview, five days before he died. He complained to friends that he was tired and had trouble breathing.
Lister battled coronavirus four months prior to his death, but his manager suspected the virus had resurfaced.
