Like much of hip-hop, Tony Yayo is rallying behind Jay-Z amid his sexual assault allegations.
The G-Unit star shared his views with TMZ, explaining that he believes it is all a scheme.
“It sounds like a money grab with that. For somebody to extort you, send you a letter, and then you gotta send your lawyers, sounds like extortion.”
Uncle Murda, who was with Yayo during the interview, also weighed in, suggesting that Diddy may have set up Jay to be brought down with him.
Jay is prepared to fight tooth and nail to clear his name no matter what anyone believes. Late Sunday night, the Roc Nation founder was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl at an MTV Video Music Award afterparty in 2000 alongside Diddy. He swiftly responded to the claims, slamming the attorney, Tony Buzbee, for trying to extort him. Hov filed a lawsuit against Buzbee in November, arguing that he was using false rape allegations for monetary gain. He even challenged Buzbee and the accuser to pursue criminal charges, confident that his innocence would prevail.
Diddy has also denied the allegations, as he had with the others over the past few months. In addition to being sued by Jay, Buzbee was also accused of assaulting a woman with a champagne flute in a separate lawsuit.
Yayo’s comments follow those of Slim Thug, Meek Mill, Ebro, and many more who have stood in solidarity with Hov since the news broke.
