Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott will be receiving her well-deserved MTV Video Vanguard Award tonight at the 2019 VMAs; and although the news of her recognition was exciting, many fans were wondering why it took so damn long.
Missy has been known for the visuals in her music videos for decades, so the award is long overdue. However, Missy isn’t the only musician who has been snubbed over the years when it comes to being recognized for the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Here are six artists that shook the world with their visuals but have yet to receive the award:
Busta Rhymes – “Dangerous” (1998), “Gimme Some More” (1998), “What’s It Gonna Be” (1999)
