Toronto-based rappers Lady SB and Casino Barnes have found themselves in hot water following an alleged human sex trafficking ring bust.
According to reports, the two rappers, along with Casino’s brother, are among five individuals who were charged after a five-month-long investigation that claimed the group was involved in criminal activity spanning from September 2019 to September 2024. The group reportedly used physical violence and psychological harm to “maintain control, direction of influence over the victims.”
The arrest was made days ago by the Halton Regional Police, who took the lead in the investigation. Despite the exact number of victims that were affected by the group being unknown, authorities believe that the group was heavily involved in a plot to exploit multiple individuals. Outside of the arrest, police also found a significant amount of cash, a loaded firearm, ammunition, a prohibited magazine, and documents relating to the victims.
As a result, Lady SB and Casino were hit with an array of charges, including trafficking in persons, knowingly advertising sexual services and assault. On the other hand, Casino’s brother is facing similar charges while the other two individuals, Jonathan Bennett and Shuwayne Mitchell, face a procuring or exercising control charge.
If you’re unaware, Lady SB and Casino have both made a name for themselves in the music industry. In particular, Lady SB’s public image portrayed her as a businesswoman and an artist. However, in a past interview with Adam22, Lady SB hinted at being involved in interesting activities after she was asked about her income.
“I had a French Bulldog business,” Lady SB said. “Well, I’m not going to say illegal shit…I’ll tell you later, but I do have a French Bulldog business. I have six females and one boy who breeds all of them. I sell each pup starting at $3,500, and I have approximately two litters a year. I’m a rich girl.”
Lady SB has over 57,000 Instagram followers, with her last release being “Hot Topic.” Casino has not been as active, though he previously released records such as “You Dat N***a.”
