The internet might be full of noise, but Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team came with straight facts.
On Thursday, Megan’s lawyers released a full presentation of evidence that led to Tory Lanez’s conviction in the 2020 shooting, after a viral press conference tried to cast doubt on the verdict.
The release includes text messages, prison phone calls, trial testimony, and forensic DNA results, all reinforcing what a jury already decided: Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion.
One key piece? A text from Tory to Megan sent right after the shooting, where he apologized directly: “I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart.”
Another crucial moment: a jailhouse call from Tory to Kelsey Harris, Megan’s former friend, where he admitted he was “so f**king drunk” that night. Even more damning, messages from Kelsey to her bodyguard that read: “Help, Tory shot Meg and handled me.”
The presentation also includes testimony from both Megan and Kelsey that Tory allegedly tried to bribe them with $1 million each to stay quiet. DNA evidence cleared Kelsey of touching the gun, and the so-called “new” Ring camera footage? Doesn’t exist.
Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, wasn’t here for the gaslighting either. “Despite Mr. Lanez being convicted at trial by overwhelming evidence… he and his team—flanked by any ignorant person they can find—have pushed whatever misleading narrative they can,” he said. “All that is left is the simple truth: he was convicted by overwhelming evidence.”
This clapback came days after the non-profit Unite the People held a press conference claiming that a former bodyguard heard Kelsey confess to the shooting. Megan’s camp was quick to shut that down, reminding everyone that the court has already spoken.
