Tory Lanez is responding after it was reported that he was unable to reach a deal with prosecutors, despite several “meaningful discussions” in his ongoing shooting case with Megan Thee Stallion. Reports also mentioned that Lanez will give live testimony after failing to reach a plea agreement.
However, the rapper/singer took to Twitter to dispute those claims, saying “I wasn’t “UNABLE” to do anything, They offered what they offered so I wouldn’t goto TRIAL and I DECLINED, It’s very simple… and no I will not be giving any live testimony…”
The world was stunned when news broke last summer that Megan Thee Stallion had been shot in the Hollywood Hills after a dispute with Lanez inside of a vehicle. Meg’s driver and a friend were both present during the incident. She has maintained that Lanez pulled the trigger, shooting her in the back of her foot. The day after the shooting, Lanez was arrested and charged with carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
In addition to the firearm charge, Lanez faces two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic weapon and personally inflicting great bodily injury. He previously pleaded not guilty. If the “Say It” singer is found guilty, he could spend a maximum of 22 years behind bars.
