If it weren’t for a minor traffic violation, G Herbo likely would not be dealing with a gun possession case.
According to Chicago Police, Herbo was pulled over because his vehicle failed to use a turn signal while in traffic. During this stop on July 9th, authorities discovered a Glock 33 in the car.
Additionally, TMZ obtained Herbo’s mugshot, which appeared to be a mixture of bewilderment and amusement regarding the situation.
Herbo was arrested earlier this month near North Wabash Avenue and East Ontario Street. During the arrest, law enforcement discovered a gun in the rapper’s possession. As a result, Herbo was booked and charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon in a public place but was later released on bond.
The drill rapper is also facing fraud charges stemming from his arrest in December 2020. According to a federal complaint, Herbo, his music promoter, and others from his group are accused of conspiracy to defraud multiple businesses using stolen credit cards. Specifically, the claim states Herbo conspired to secure a private villa in Jamaica in July 2017. Allegedly, he contacted music promoter, Antonio Strong, to make the arrangements and provided a stolen credit card to cover additional expenses related to the villa.
Herbo was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and two counts of aiding and abetting aggravated identity theft. Meanwhile, Strong was hit with several counts, including wire fraud.
